Just had first qualifying, also the first session on my ZX10R since September, and I equalled my best time from last year (when we did extensive testing). Not bad! Making some changes for Q2, can't wait.

Plagued with electronical issues in Q2: suddenly in parc ferme at the start of session the bike wouldn't start. We got it running eventually and I rode the full session, yet it kept cutting out all around the track. I improved my outright laptime but it was a real battle; I was 25+ km/h down on top speed and never certain if the bike would cut out mid corner. Since then we've been eliminating every possibility, and finally found a small opening in a wire, that when pushed against the tank would make the engine cut. Suuuuper glad to have finally solved it! Bike felt great otherwise, gonna be an interesting couple races tomorrow coming from back in 24th on the grid!

Happy camper post race 1! Overall position 19th (from 24th) so that can be better, however: my start was epic, I took four seconds off yesterday's best, and my race pace was two seconds quicker than last year's PB. All in only my 3rd session of the year. Excited for race 2, I know my ZX10 and I can do a bit better still!

Race 2 was a little special. The bike refused to start on the grid, and even though I waved, the start procedure wasn't stopped. Luckily I didn't get hit, and got the bike running again. Now full of adrenaline I caught up to the pack one third of the lap in, and still managed to pass eight riders on lap 1. :-D Throughout the race I came back from 33rd to 18th, and took another 1.1 seconds off my fastest lap. Meaning without any testing I improved 3.5 seconds on my PB from last year's races. :-D So stoked for the rest of the season, the competition better watch out once I've had a bit more seat time.

Thank you everyone for the support this weekend, in person or through social media, it means a lot! <3 Though I still have to reply to most of your messages (sorry). Special thanks to my dream team Stefan & Chris, Front Row Components for the setup help, Jenik Performance for my beauty of an engine, and of course all of my sponsors. Quick bit of rest, then off to the North West 200!
